Denise is one of the only virtual assistant programs that includes the option of working in another language (internationalization). As Denise is an international program, people can communicate with her through their mother tongue. Denise 1.0's first version was launched on 27 January 2006. Her first main change came 30 March 2006, when the program went from being called "Denise 1.0" to simply "Denise". Her last major change came with her 7th version, launched on 14 January 2010, which revamped many of her features to make them more user-friendly and functional. A website, denise10sur10.com, was created to show Denise's progress over the years and offers a free trial for 10 days' worth of use, after which users have to pay for time on the system. The website also offers a support chat on the right of the screen. This is open from 09:00 to 22:00 by Paris time, or 22 hours a day / 7 days a week. Denise 1.0 is due for another major update in early 2012, which will include many new features and improvements over the current system.
There are no exact statistics about the number of users who have signed up with Denise because she is an online service and there is no hard evidence that people are using her for their personal use, although there were more than 1,000 registered Denise accounts by February 2006.
